How to play

Two cards, one question.

The left card shows how many times its article was read. Decide whether the right card’s article was read more or less, then press Higher or Lower, or use the ↑ and ↓ keys. If you are right, the revealed card moves across and a new challenger appears. Equal counts count as correct. The card frame is a fair clue: rarity comes from the same monthly views, so a Legendary frame means at least 100,000. Your best streak for each mode is kept in this browser only.

LegendaryFamous subjects, 100,000+ views4,712

Legendary is the hardest mode: everything is popular, so the gaps are narrow. Deep cuts turns the game into a tour of the quietest corners of the encyclopedia.

Where the numbers come from

Real readers, not search trends.

Unlike higher or lower games built on search volumes, this one uses Wikipedia readership: human page views for August 2026 from Wikimedia’s complete monthly pageview data, adding desktop, mobile web and the Wikipedia apps. Automated traffic is filtered by Wikimedia, although a few unusual spikes can remain. The same numbers set each card’s rarity in WikiCollector; see the most viewed Wikipedia articles for the month’s leaders and rarity and drop rates for every tier.
